Picked up the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 Aura Edition (Eclipse Black) and I’m honestly impressed. Super light but still feels solid, which makes it easy to carry around without worry. The 14ʺ screen is sharp and bright, and the keyboard provides just the right tension you’d expect from a ThinkPad. Performance has been smooth with no hiccups, even while multitasking across demanding applications. Overall, it’s been a great balance of power, portability, and looks.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Surprising that the lightest computer I've ever owned also feels the most solid. I've had an XPS 13 for many years and I owned only ultraportables beforehand, and this is shockingly better. The screen, the speed, the battery life, all excellent and it changes the feeling that you need to know where your charger is. Some upgrades are worth the $$.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a scientist who juggles heavy data analysis, writing, and constant travel, I need a laptop that keeps up without slowing me down. The ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 Aura Edition – Eclipse has quickly become my favorite work partner. Its ultra-light yet solid build makes it effortless to carry from lab bench to seminar room to airport gate and back home. The 14ʺ display is brilliantly crisp and bright, so reviewing complex data plots, reading long papers or simply watching a movie feels easy on the eyes, even after hours of work. The latest Intel processor and generous memory handle large datasets, coding scripts, and demanding visualization tools without a hiccup. Equally important, the battery easily lasts through a full day of experiments and meetings, sparing me the hunt for power outlets. I also love the refined Eclipse finish and classic ThinkPad keyboard, it combines modern elegance with the durability and comfort that ThinkPads are known for. For fellow scientists or anyone balancing rigorous research or hectic lifestyle with frequent travel, the X1 Carbon Gen 13 Aura Edition is more than just a laptop, it’s a reliable, inspiring companion for serious work on the move.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Screen cracked all the sudden within a few weeks. either already came cracked and it grew or opening the lid from side is enough to eventually cause a crack, not sure but it sits on a desk and not moved so not sure what else. Automatically not covered by warranty. Frequent crashes especially when running Linux. Overall good performance but build quality and lack of Linux support is making these obselete for any serious work.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
