While the primary functions of this HP are working correctly, several of the ports on the left side of the case work inconsistently. The HDMI port (#10) worked properly during the first week when I had the laptop, but it doesn't work now. (The LP Monitor to which it is connected still works correctly with another laptop I own.) The USB-C ports #11 and #12 also work well sometimes but not always. Are there loose port connections? Horrible HP quality control!
This is the first laptop I have bought myself since graduate school 30 years ago. However, I liked the HP laptops provided to me by my employer over the last 15 years, so that's the company I looked at when I left to go my own way. My main criteria was a large screen. This one is big and beautiful. I don't use it for gaming - just work, surfing the web and videos. The only shocker was how heavy she is. Oof. I mean it was in the specs, but I didn't quite anticipate how much more she would weigh than my old one - I mistakenly thought that getting rid of my ancient disk drive would lighten the load but screens are clearly heavy. Still - it fits in all my backpacks and carry abgs and that's all I need.
I had my laptop for about a month and from day 1 i have had nothing but trouble with it already had to send back to find out whats wrong
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This was delivered on Jan 2, 2025. The touchpad operates sporadically. Sometimes it responds to a tap but often it does not. I use a tap on the touchpad to use the computer, thus the touchpad needs to work right each time I tap it.
Beautiful computer. I bought it for school/work/gaming and it’s perfect. Opens and loads quickly, Windows 11 isn’t as terrible as it could be. So far I love it. I hope this Envy lasts 10 years like the last one did.
I'm still getting used to the new computer. I love the bigger screen and the keyboard is very comfortable. I just discovered the camera button which used to be on my keyboard...sneaky little button but extremely useful for privacy
