I've bought multiple HP Envy laptops over the years. They appear to offer the best bang-for-buck compared to other vendors. I mostly use them as desktops (i.e. not looking for portability). The only issue I have with them is how they blank out/appear dead when upgrading memory. I wasn't aware of this and thought the machine had been bricked. Eventually it came up and is working fine but I've never seen this behavior before. When upgrading my Thinkpads, the system POSTs right away and comes right up. And what happened to the days when the internal storage and memory were accessible with a simple cover removal? This need to have to remove the entire bottom casing is just bad.
I was in need of a new Laptop; I was helped online during this purchase and have been mostly satisfied with the choice I made. One unresolved issue is technically related, and I need to get this resolved, solved or explained. I am very pleased with the upgraded operating system.
Sleek, professional in appearance, and colorful screen on initial opening/startup. My main intent for the purchase is to remain updated in capabilities. It is everything I expected. The large screen was an extra for me for ease of reading. Hey guys, sorry to say, but the need comes with long term computer use and age of course. (Ha, little pun there.)
