I purchased 2 for my RV office. The low power consumption, and internal battery were the main purchasing factors. There are no transit accessories or mountings for this form factor, so expect to DIY a decent mount. I even had to sew a custom sleave for my travel bag.
One was DOA, Asus support refused to RMA, which lost me a Black Friday deal. Which is the only reason for the 1 star, would have been 4-5 if they would have bothered to fix it. ASUS needs to take some responsibility in the flimsy design. By the looks of the packaging, they know it is an issue.
These screens are very sensitive. The mounting point is a camera screw and the plastic housing doesn't hold up well. The screen is too heavy for that little mounting point. The whole thing is very delicate, and I wouldn't trust it for business travel.
Otherwise it's a good monitor. If it was made of sturdier stuff, it would be amazing.
The software settings for refresh rate do not persist between sessions. Causing me to have to change it at every location. Nice that it defaults to highest rate, but if you are running on battery, you may want to dial that down.
This is an expencive monitor, but it is the best 17 inch mobile option on the market. It pairs well with the ROG Strix 17 inch laptop.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
