I am really happy with our new shredder. Works very well, spacewise as we are very short on space. Very easy to use, and quiet. I do feel that there should have been better directions as to set up, where the little box attaches etc. I feel I made a really good decision on this shredder.
Pros: Quiet Operation, Sheet Capacity, Quality Construction, Warranty, Service Guarantee, Safety Features, Jam Resistance
I've had no problems with this shredder in the two months it has been in operation in my home business. I like the desktop height, which means no bending over as with smaller units. It's more expensive that the wastebasket-sized units, but having owned 3 shredders before this one, I recommend the old advice: buy your second (or third) shredder first.
Observations after ownership of lest than a week. All the functions and safety items worked as advertised. It was selected and purchased to complete one major shredding task each year, and basic office light duty shredding on a daily basis. In the last week it has succesfully completed the 'major' task for 2012. A stiffer, more solid container box, with a method of securing the plastic container bags, would I feel be a great improvement.
Pros: Quiet Operation, Sheet Capacity, Quality Construction, Shreds Credit Cards, Staples and CDs, Safety Features, Secure Cut Size, Jam Resistance, Mess Reduction, service and warranty not tested.
Cons: flimsy construction of container., no way to secure container bag.
After 3 hrs of use, the whining started and no more could be processed thru the shredder. Took the unit apart to see what was stuck, only to find that the overheat fan blade had a metal worm gear that wore down the nylon gear move the some of the other working parts.
Pros: Shreds Credit Cards, Staples and CDs, Safety Features
Cons: Quality Construction
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Dear Customer,
Thank you for providing a review of your shredder. We appreciate you sharing your comments and we are sorry to hear that your shredder is broken. Please note that this shredder has a usage rating of 100-150 passes per day. This means that the user may pass acceptable product through the cutters up to 150 times per day maximum. Usage beyond this maximum on a regular basis may cause damage to the unit. We are not certain how the unit is being used on a regular basis, but we thought we would mention this as a matter of education.
Since you have determined what the issue is, please contact our customer service department so they may further assist you regarding your unit. Please have the serial number of the unit available when you call.
The serial number of your unit is located on a white label adhered to the head of your shredder. Typically it will start with the model number of your shredder and is under the bar code. It includes all the letters and numbers from left to right. Please call the Consumer Help Line at 1.800.945.4545, Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. CST. We would appreciate the opportunity to further assist you.
I owned a Fellowes shredder for a little over two years, and I "ran it hard in the fast lane." I do a mountainous amount of shredding for both personal and business applications, and I LOVE to sit down on Saturday mornings, watch an episode or two of a favorite recorded TV show...and shred...and shred...and shred.
When I decided to get a larger, more heavy-duty shredder, I knew it would just be an upgraded Fellowes model.
Pros: Sheet Capacity, Quality Construction, Warranty, Service Guarantee, Safety Features, Secure Cut Size, Jam Resistance
Based on my previous experience with Fellowes shredders, I decided to purchase another Fellowes shredder that was more powerful and would shred more papers at one time. This shredder more than meets my expectations. I have used it over the past week to shred all my personal papers from 1995 through 2003 and it has not failed me once. It is a great shredder for the price.
Pros: Sheet Capacity, Quality Construction, Shreds Credit Cards, Staples and CDs, Safety Features
