[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This dock does exactly what I need. While I wish it had more USB ports it's got enough for keyboard, mouse, and a webcam.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works as expected. Plug in your monitors, plug it into your laptop, and you're good to go. A bit expensive, but its was was worth the price to not have to bring my laptop charger and adapters back and forth between my office and home.
I have been a 20+ year customer and fan of Lenovo and this is my first bad experience, and it was a doozy. When I initially got the dock I was experiencing my display(s) going to a solid color and the only way to fix that was to unplug the dock, wait a bit, and plug it back in. Originally I'd received the Universal version of this dock and through troubleshooting I was switched to the workstation version. This did not fix the problem. My problems began about a year ago. I've since gone through 5 docks and 2 laptop mainboard replacements. Still, the problem has not been fixed. They went onto my machine, factory reset my machine, gave me updated firmwares, custom firmwares, and even unreleased firmwares that are two versions above what's publicly available. The problem is still unfixed. I've been patient up until now. What's pushed me over the edge into writing this review is that support is now telling me not to use any dongles\adapters to convert DP to HDMI. Both of my displays are HDMI only. If you connect one display to HDMI and one to DP (still with an adapter) you get different alpha\brightness\color on the screen. Something is obviously wrong with the dock and adapters shouldn't be an issue as that's precisely how standards are supposed to protect consumers. There are a number of other people reporting display issues so I'm not alone.
See the photo attached for the lockups, and the video (https://www.youtube.com/shorts/YWffEm5409k) for the flickering.
In the end I ended up with an expensive dock that doesn't work as expected and a $3600 laptop that's been molested twice in an effort to fix the problems with the dock and devested faith in the brand.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] was so troubling and difficult to have a separate AC power cable and pack to connect my 230 watt Lenovo laptop to my dock. This dock does it all! Only wish it had the ability to support USB-C monitors instead of either HDMI or DVI. Aside from that the magic cable that is also magnetic supplies 230 watts to my laptop and has the USB-C connector to the dock/laptop. Fantastic! Love it
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I only have one external monitor (HP VH240a) connected via HDMI. This connection was working fine for the first month but now the dock is no longer recognizing the HDMI connection after opening from sleep mode (shows as 'inactive'). This forces me to have to restart my computer to get it to activate the HDMI connection. I've tried switching display settings to get the extended display back to my laptop screen and this doesn't work either. As of now I've resorted to plugging the external monitor directly into my laptop (which defeats the whole purpose of the dock) until/if I find a resolution to the problem.
