Good investment

After having another serger for 20+ years, I searched top 10, this model had features like the convenience of the free arm. I love the other features too. I did have a threading issue, but after taking a breath and starting over it worked out well. I love the dependability of the Brother company.

I bought my 1034D two months ago, after years of wanting a serger. I did some review checking and thought this was my best and most economic option at this time. It took me 6 weeks to open the box. I read the suggested Serger Handbook by Chris James, front to back, as soon as it arrived but I was a bit intimidated about threading the machine. Well I did it Monday, this is Thursday and I am not kidding when I tell you I have spent probably 30 hours using the machine. I had a lot of catching up to do and a lot of projects on the table. I am thoroughly enjoying it. Only thing I see negative is one of the small spool tops was missing from the original spools of thread on the machine when I unpacked. I will need to get one. Also think I should be looking for a case for this as well. Thanks Brother. I am a Singer and Pfaff owner previously. Now this Brother is a welcome addition.

I recently begun sewing and purchased the CS6000I. It was such an amazing sewing machine that when someone in class mentioned I needed a serger, I without hesitation, purchased the 1034D.
I have rethreaded it, run some practice pieces on it and cannot wait to do my scarfs as gifts for people!
I am really impressed with Brother products!

Love this Serger

I was very scared to buy a serger thinking it would be too complicated and I wouldn't use it and would feel awful wasting the money. What a surprise! This machine is awesome! Easy to learn to thread and seems indestructible. Have not tried all the stitches yet but the ones I have tried were easy and came out perfect. Can't say enough, love my Brother machines!

great little machine

I have an older serger by another company and it needs to be repaired, haven't used it in years.
Now my Granddaughter is interested in sewing. She home schools and we will be using this as part of her home making classes to sew.
This machine is just what I wanted for her. So easy to use, so easy to thread, perfect for someone to learn on for a first serger. She has used the machine and handles it very well. I had her read the instructions and thread the machine. The instructions are written very well, easy to understand.

I purchased this product because of the good reviews and also the great price for a serger. I have sewed for many years but had no experience at all with a serger. After unpacking the machine, I felt nervous about using it. Before I did anything more, I read the manual that came with it (twice) and then also watched the video (twice). I'm glad I did because I have had no problem at all threading the machine or using it. There are also some very good U Tube instructional videos online that are very helpful. If I can learn to use it so easily, anyone can! Just take your time with it and enjoy it.
I would recommend this to a friend!
