First Serger Bought

I bought this serger because of the great reviews on it. This is my first one and I am very happy with all that it does. It is very easy to thread. All of my seams look great now. I wish I had bought one years ago. It would have saved me many hours in getting a project done. I look forward to many years of sewing with it.

In the 1980's had expensive serger and had so much trouble with it I finally gave it to goodwill. Bought the Brother 1034D and I'm in love. So easy to use and the stitch qualituy is great, easy to thjread!! Love it.

The best thing I can say about the serger is that stitch is very good. The video provided with the machine is a good idea, except the viewing window is way to small. Especially the threading videos on the the loopers. Your video was to small and to dark. I had to go to You Tube to get a better view to seeing how to thread them. I'm also concerned about how noisy the machine is. I listen to a audio book while I'm sewing and can't hear it as long as I'm sewing and the CD player is only setting 2 feet from me. This is my biggest worry about the machine. The other concen I have is you have to push pretty hard on the foot pedal it get the serger to start sewing and sometimes I have to give the hand wheel a turn to get it to start. I have been sewing on it since I received it and this is not my first serger. I bought my first serger in 1985 and have been using is constantly until about a month or so ago. I use a serger a lot more than my regular sewing machine.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I had never used a serger but sew on a regular basis. I ordered this one as I didn't want to have too large of an investment and reviews were good. So I gave it a try. I have found it to be very easy to use. I have even had to rethread it twice and from what I was told that is the most difficult part of a serger. The guide/numbering made rethreading a snap. I can say that for a beginner this was a great buy!

I had always thought sergers were too complicated. I bought my machine used from a local dealer and got two one-hour free lessons included. The threading is very easy, just follow the color guidelines. With the lessons, and the manual, I have been able to successfully learn to use the serger. So far I use it to finish seams on garments and drapes. but plan to try some of the other options.

Love this serger

I've had other sergers and ended up giving them away because they were difficult to thread and to use. The 1034D Serger is heavenly! Easy to thread, easy to use. I'm never giving this one up. Just had it a month and have made several outfits for my granddaughter and me. It's a joy to use!
