Instructions gave the impression that the initial connection to my iPad was by Bluetooth. However, I found I needed to connect a USB-C cable from the pencil to the iPad for the first time to make the Bluetooth connection work. Just used Bluetooth after that. Reminder: You need Bluetooth to be turned on for the iPad to receive a signal from the pencil.
I'm happy with the pencil; It works fine.

Bought this mainly for procreate. Was extremely disappointed when I got home to use it only to find that this is the only apple pencil on the market that doesn’t have pressure sensitivity. So it doesn’t do what I bought it for.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

i like that you don’t have to reconnect it every time. this is my first pencil that wasn’t a knock off and it’s definitely worth it. i love that it is automatically connected and works as soon as you take it off the side. smooth writing and scribble feature is such a plus.

So far we are very happy with the Apple Pencil choice. Though it's not the high performance one that was promoted, this one completely satisfies the needs.
So we have to charge it with a cable instead on the side of the I-pad. Who cares. We plug it in over night and all is good to go again. And it saved us $80 (taxes considered).

I enjoyed the pencil while it lasted. A day after warranty expired it stopped charging and does not work.

The Apple Pencil (USB-C) (3rd Generation) works lovely and does great with my ipad a16. It works really great for notes and has made me super productive.
