This mower is awful! It can't even mow .15 acres on one battery charge! Wish I would have never purchased this. Waste of time and money!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We are sorry to hear you are not fully happy with the runtime you are getting with the battery included. As we are not sure of the condition of your lawn, we are not exactly sure why the battery did not meet your expectations. The maximum runtime often applies to a relatively flat, open yard. Slopes and obstacles require more power, and users can expect running time to be less, if this is the case. Runtime measurements are also related to the condition of the grass and if it is well-maintained. Tall, thick grass requires more power, and you must mow it slower, consuming added runtime. Here are a few tips to ensure the max runtime is achieved. Ensure you charge the battery fully before each use, maintain the battery properly by cleaning terminals, avoid extreme temperatures during storage. Consider buying a second battery for larger lawns, this mower can be used with Greenworks 24V batteries. Mow in a straight line and choose a mower with a powerful battery suitable for your lawn size. If the grass has been left to exceed 4 inches, we advise that you raise the cutting height and cut no more than one-third of the length of grass at a time, wait a couple of days and do another one-third, cut when grass is dry and walk at steady pace to allow the blade to work more efficiently. Please note, users must use (2) fully charged Greenworks 24V battery packs. Do not use battery packs other than Greenworks 24V. Ensure both batteries are charged 100%. If each battery has a different charge state, the run-time of the machine is subject to the lowest powered battery (For example: one battery is charged 100%, and the other is charged 50%, the unit will only run until the 50% battery is depleted). When using (2) batteries with different amp hours (Ah), the machine will run until the lower (Ah) battery is depleted. As the lawn becomes consistently maintained you will see the cut and runtime improve. Hope these tips help! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The mower is everything it’s advertised to be. After becoming used to the controls (different than I was accustomed to) the mower is very easy to use. So much quieter and easier to clean than a gas powered mower.dealing with Greenworks was very easy and the price was reasonable and less than a big box store.
Pros: Easy to Use, Quiet, Environmentally Safe, Effective, Powerful

Lawn Mowed QUIETLY w/ One Charge

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this small push mower last month and have now used it several times to mow a lawn that is 75 by 140 feet. It's a large corner lot and recently planted with nearly 100 trees and shrubs. This mower has proven to be facile, maneuverable and easy to use--giving me close access to trim the grass around saplings and small shrubs without damaging tender branches.
Compared to the older, gas-powered push mower I had been using, this Greenworks model is a pleasant experience and gets the job done! Instead of repeatedly calling in the mechanic to fix my gas mower's latest issue, I can simply start up my Greenworks mower and mow the lawn! The benefit to a lighter mower is that at the end of the day, I have a neatly mowed lawn and energy left to ride my bike.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Mower cuts well and is easy to maneuver even without the self propel. Brand new 5Ah batteries last ~45 minutes without the self propel feature. I haven't tried out how long with self propel yet. If you have a large yard, maybe invest in additional batteries unless you just want a break while mowing.
Pros: Easy to Use, Quiet, Effective

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a month ago and it’s a great mower just wish the batteries would last longer. I can’t even mow my back yard on one charge.

Hello Chad48.
Thank you for your feedback, we are glad to hear you are enjoying the power of your mower.
Battery runtime can vary based on grass conditions and usage, but here are a few tips that may help extend runtime.
1. Mow more frequently, cutting smaller amounts of grass reduces strain on the motor and batteries.
2. Adjust cutting height, a higher deck setting can improve efficiency, especially in thicker grass.
3. Use self-propel only when needed, reducing use of the drive system can help conserve battery power.
4. Ensure full charge and proper storage, charge batteries fully before use and store them at room temperature for best performance.
5. Keep blades sharp and deck clean, this helps the mower run more efficiently and use less power.
For additional guidance on setup and best practices, you may find helpful video resources on Greenworks YouTube page by searching your model (MO48L520). If runtime continues to fall short of expectations, Greenworks Success team would be happy to review your setup and help further. They can be reached either using the online chat function, on Greenworks Tools page, accessible by clicking “Chat Now” in the bottom corner of your screen or by calling 1-888-909-6757.

Meets expectations, but...

I knew I wasn't going to be able to get my entire yard done on a single battery charge, but I didn't think it would take 4 rounds to do the whole thing! I chose this model mower because it's the most lightweight one I could find and I have spinal issues, so lighter weight had to take precedence over mower power. I'm very satisfied with how easy to maneuver the mower is. The battery is a little annoying, it needs about an hour to cool down enough to recharge, even when it doesn't feel HOT hot, the charger blinks red. So recharge is more like 3 hours all together.
My biggest gripe is that the height setting lever really has to be forced to get to position 5. Which would be one thing, but this mower (being lightweight) REALLY chokes on longer grass. I have to go over a section once on the highest cut setting, then again on a lower one. I almost have to cut grass about every day, since I can only do a small section at a time, by the time I get the last part done the first needs cutting again. Whew. (Hey, can you add a filter to the product search to filter by mower weight?)
Pros: Easy to Use, Quiet

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good Power for a small mower, was able to go thru heavy grass without issue. Like that it can Collect grass, side discharge, or mulch. Like that I can charge batteries inside while storing mover in shed
