It works well but I have to admit it takes skill to cut along an edge of lawn to create a straight edge line. Cuts the edges of lawn well. Easy to start up. One battery works with all devices we purchased and that is really nice!

It is important to adjust your trimming techniques to make the most out of the battery life. This unit is advertised as running up to 40 minutes with a fully charged 2Ah battery, but it goes without saying that that the harder the unit works, the quicker the battery drains.
Here are a few tips to help achieve the optimal run time.
Cut with the bare tip of the line because this is the section which moves at the highest speed. Do not let the line slap into grass. Ease the line into grass, bit by bit. You should not allow all the line to meet the grass as this will tend to slow it down causing it to lose momentum and it will not do a good job of cutting.
Remember to always have the guard and the metal flower guide on while using the trimmer. This will prevent the line from snapping off and going back into the spool housing.

Spool string does not hold at all

I recently bought this trimmer. The string does not stay at all. It breaks within no time and won't come out even after pushing the spool against the ground. Every time, I have to open the spool and take it out. It is getting very frustrating and annoying.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Trimmer line usually breaks because of line crowding. This occurs when the trimmer head is held too close to hard objects that can break the line such as brick, cement, rocks, or fencing. Keeping the line at full extension, and not crowding it, reduces line breakage problems. We suggest cutting with the bare tip of the line because this is the section which moves at the highest speed. Don't let it hit into grass. Ease the line into vegetation, bit by bit from the edge. Line can also get wrapped around thick vegetation and become tangled, breaking the line. Listen to the sound of the machine and when the line slows down; back off out of the grass. We hope these suggestions help!

Pretty good when the line extends. It doesn't come out when bumped and sometimes gets lost inside resulting in disassembly.

Trimmer line tends to break off when the trimmer line makes contact with hard surface areas. Therefore more line is required. If the line gets too short it does roll back into the trimmer head. The trimmer line should be 2-3 inches out of the trimmer head while in operation.
We advise extending the line prior to use and keeping an eye on trimmer line when the unit is in use so it does not get too short.
