I use my file cabinet for personal papers. Its very convenient for keeping my papers in order and easy access. Very attractive in my office space and great space for the number of files I have. The design is perfect and easy for hanging my folders.
Yes this is a cheap construction. When you pull out the drawers they can catch but it doesn't jam up so you just slightly wiggle it and you are on your way. The metal is too thin so when you pull the drawer out the metal will flex. The handles broke off the 2nd day. As a fix I went over to [@] and got some stylish silver metal handles that fit without drilling a new hole. Now that they are secure I'm not afraid to open the drawer. Replacing the handles not only made it look cool but it seems to work ok with my small business to keep client files in and a way to maximize my office space. And the added bonus I don't have to be careful with it - I can bang stuff into it without fear of messing it up like I would feel if I had a nice wooden filing cabinet that I had paid alot.I'd only recommend this to a friend if I could give him/her the metal handles I bought at [@] to go with it.
This is one of the most poorly constructed objects I have ever bought in my entire life. The drawers do not pull out all the way so reaching files in the back of the drawers is very difficult. I put spacers back there to push all of the files to the front. Once the file cabinet is filled with paper the graphite body is too weak to support the weight and bends and warps when you try to open a drawer. Both handles have fallen off. And I only bought it a few months ago. I made the mistake of purchasing this online. Had I seen it in person in a store I probably wouldn't have bought it. Never have I seen a product of any kind that was so unsuccessful in achieving its purpose for existence. This product is so awful that I believe it is unethical for Staples to even offer it to its customers in the first place.
A good buy for the price. I can't really complain because the cabinet will only be in use for historical research. I purchased a roller frame with castors and added a handle in the front at the top for flexibility -works very well.
I use it inside the house. For that purpose it is really good. It is only opened and closed once in a while and we are not too rough with it. Looks prety clean.
