We purchased two of these because they were the right size and fit neatly under our desk. The metal is tearing in the middle of the top drawer on both cabinets. The handle of the top drawer of one unit has been ripped off leaving jagged edges just from the weight of the files. You must also be careful when opening the top drawer our cabinets tople over.
cabinet had big dent on side when we got it out of the box.. but we are just using it like it is.. box was sealed but product was not 100% in quality.. if we had time/and store was closer we would have taken it back..
seems that the metal used to build this was very thin but it does fit the need for now. if you load it very heavy it may not. It cost a little too much but I used staples cash back bonuses to offset the bill.
The bottom drawer on my old filing cabinet sprang and the drawer wouldn't shut. It had a metal rod that was used in the drawer to divide the drawer. Everything put in front of the rod was maintained in an upright position helpful for file folders. The new cabinet didn't have that.
