It doesn’t look nearly as cheap as it is. It’s ok as long as you don’t load it to more than 2/3 of its capacity. When I did that the upper drawer started coming off tracks and listing to the side.
Sliding mechanism is the absolute cheapest design and will not hold up to being weighted down by simply using it the way it is supposed to be use - to hold files. I believe after several days of supporting the weight of my files the drawers did not maintain their structure and I could not even slide open the drawers. Good example of you get what you pay for. Now the file cabinet I got could have been defective in some way but I could not return it since the return policy expired before the drawer mechanism failed which was only a couple weeks after purchase.
