The piece is made of thin metal. The top drawer falls off its predesigned track. The lock works but the cabinet is so thin it could easily be broken into.

"Staples" two drawer metal file cabinet

When locked the upper drawer can be pulled almost half inch exposing the documents stored in the first hanging folder. I would blame the lock which is located in the left side of the bottom drawer. If you pull the top drawer when the lock is on it twist most of the outfit. I would blame the quality and/or the gauge of the metal and the lack of internal reinforcement.

I am very disappointed with this product. After two weeks the draw has jammed and cabinat is not usable. I am a senior and taking this back to store or sending back if very difficult to me.
