[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As someone who does a fair amount of marker art, both personally and professionally, I was excited to take the Sharpie Creative Marker set for a spin. I didn’t know what to expect at all, but I liked the color, price point, and ease of picking them up. After putting them through their paces, I’m pretty impressed, and know these will be part of my arsenal going forward.
The set came with 12 colors, and I used the Earth Tone palette, as I typically like a more natural line. The markers are easy to hold and comfortable in the hand. They are almost 6 inches long, and are bullet pointed, creating a sharp, controlled line as you’d expect from a traditional Sharpie, those these have a broader tip. The caps have a notch at the top with helps you when opening, and when shutting they have a nice snap sound so you know they cap is seated properly, protecting your ink. I’ve had problems with past rival brand markers feeling like they are shut, but finding out later that they were not and have dried out. This shouldn’t happen with these Sharpie markers, as you have a good visual and audible indication they are well closed.
These markers are indeed vibrant and hearty, taking to surface I used them on without loosing their color luster. It is quite remarkable. Too, they don’t mix, and the colors can be used on top of each other, so mistakes are easy to correct. Even the lightest color covers the darkest, and vice versa. They seem to be lasting quite a while, so they offer good value in terms of use. I typically use my markers on pastel paper, as I like the thickness and grain, and the Sharpie markers were perfectly capable in that medium as well. I’ve included a images of a quick sketch I did using only the Earth Tones from my set.
As far as things I might change or add in a purely art setting, if these markers were double sided and offered a thicker line, I could see using them even more, as shading with a bullet line can be tedious. That said, the individual colors themselves blend perfectly with themselves, so you can get perfect coverage if you want to go through the work. Too, working with these markers made me wish I had the black and white versions, and I plan on picking them up as soon as possible. With those and a single set, you could produce some beautiful images.
In summery, I am super impressed with these markers. I’m excited to add to my collection, picking up other tones to broaden my ability to create real art. Sharpie has been a staple of mine, and I have used the standard black marker in limited use in art before, but now, I can push further into the brand. Sharpie has earned its stellar reputation through years of great products, and these markers are worthy of that great name!

Okay, these surprised me—in the best way. I wasn’t expecting much, but once I tried them… I kind of fell in love. They have this smooth, buttery flow that feels like paint but with the control of a pen. Dreamy.
The colors are vibrant. Not chalky or watered down, but rich and bold. The white? Chef’s kiss. Actually shows up over dark colors without having to go over it a million times. I’ve used them on paper, canvas, even a little on wood, and they held up beautifully.

These acrylic markers are highly recommended for their vibrant colors and can be used for many surfaces. The tip allows for a consistent and smooth flow of paint with precision. The ink is also water and fade resistant, allowing for a longer lasting finish. These markers are more comfortable than others, allowing for longer working periods.
