This was on sale so for the price paid it's a decent file cabinet that works and looks good in the office. It's not the heavyweight metal type that you find in a commercial office but I prefer this lighter weight since it's easier to move around. Lock works well although it's not something we use daily.

For a budget-priced unit it looks nice and the drawers open & close smoothly. However the locking mechanism is flimsy. One strong tug on the drawer opened the cabinet and pretty much obliterated the lock. Had to return the product. Don't count on this cabinet for security.

A great buy

This file cabinet is a great buy at the $40.00 price - it is a little smaller on the outside than others i looked at so it fits in the only space i have for it - it looks nice and works just like the more expensive cabinets - it needs to be on a solid flat surface so it doesn't twist when fully loaded and i have it fully loaded with hanging folders - it is a great buy at the price although i don't know if i would pay the normal $65.00 to $70.00 for it - for my purposes and i think for most home purposes it works just fine and i would recommend it to anyone for the purpose i have indicated.

Certainly not the best quality item I have ever purchased for a cheap price but it gets the job done and looks good doing it. Wished they had included rubber feet or stickers with the unit to hold it in place.
