As a General Contractor, and Garage Door Contractor, measuring tools are critical to my success. I have been using Stanley tape measures for over thirty years.

not standing up

afraid that I purchased this Made in USA product thinking it would stand up. Unfortunately, it stopped recoiling (tape won't go back in). Hoping that Stanley will stand behind product and replace.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This thing is outdated. It was a great tool during its time, but that time has passed. The standout is nothing special, and the tip is basic. These weren't bad things until better things came along.

Iron worker tested

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've literally bought about 5 of these in the last few years, Understand I use them for work at an iron works and because of that am extremely rough with them. The longest I made one last was about 8 months the shortest about 2 months. There extremely durable tape measures I've dropped it hundreds of times ran one over with a forklift and it still worked. The problem I have is it has no tip protection for the end of the tape causing it to bend over the course of rough use making measurements off if you do not notice it's bent. They have others which I've bought also that have a recessed tip protector so this doesn't happen. Either way. It says lifetime guarantee...can I get another one STANLEY? I do recommend this tape measure. For all intense and purposes.

An Old Reliable Design

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this tape measure many years ago. I’ve also since bought many other styles and brands but I still use this one as a primary tape measure. It’s durable, locks easily and holds when it’s locked. Others might have more standout but that hasn’t been a big issue for me. Good, reliable tape measure.
