Solid, durable, same as my dads from the 60s

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought a 2 pack of these a few weeks ago as I needed a real tape measure instead of the cheap one I just broke. I’ve been beating the guts out of this measure doing my wood and metal fab work and it won’t give up. It still works great. Feels solid in your hand. Love it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I only use Stanley and one other brand of tapes. Durability of Stanley tapes is excellent and they only fail when abused beyond what is reasonable. This particular tape I've had maybe three versions of, and each one lasted probably 10 years. The two I have now are still excellent.

Your Granddad's tape (in a good way)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Classic. Reliable. Shiny. This is the tape your Granddad used to lay out the house he was born in, uphill in the snow both ways. Just kidding. But seriously.
Anyway to me this one is more about style than features. Other tapes are probably more useful. The hook is basic, downward grabbing only (no side or top grabs). The scale has everything you need for framing layout on 12, 16, and 19.2 inch (and multiples). The lock is positive and the sliding action is smooth (mine is still basically brand new). Solid feel. I will say the chrome finish can be aggravating in direct sunlight. But overall, you can't go wrong with this tape. It will do what you need it to 90% of the time. But there are other tapes for a little more money that will do more.

Durable, Reliable, Made in the USA

Purchased it when I moved I to my new home and use it constantly for all sort of home improvement jobs. It might be a little more expensive than a lesser made tape measure but I like buying Made in the USA and shopping local.
