I used to have another steel ruler like this one that was slightly wider and had registration holes drilled at strategic points. I miss that ruler but this one is as close as they come to that old standard and offers the basic metric and inch edges with equal accuracy. For most uses this well made substitute serves equally well and the cork backing helps steady the rule to accurately mark any flat surface.
It appears to be good quality but time will tell. I have other stainless-steel rulers that are of thicker metal so this one seems a bit flimsy. I plan to use it as a straightedge for marking and cutting cardboard etc.
