Not a fan of the new wash tape

After using the travel washi tape for a couple of years, I decided to buy the glitter. It does not stay down like the other tape did; it is too thick.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Disappointing

I have a large collection of this tape - stored neatly in a lidded plastic tub in my craft room. Imagine my disappointment when I took some out today (almost a full roll) and when I peeled some off, the sticky was almost entirely gone. :-( All of my rolls in this brand are the same. I spent a lot of money on these and they are totally useless. Shame on you Scotch brand for putting out such a low quality product!

Washi tape. My new love.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This decorative tape has a slightly glossy finish and is really easy to use in projects.
The tape is thick enough to be sturdy but still slightly sheer, so if you use it on high contrast things, the underlying patterns will show. I think it's best on a solid color background but you may like the shadow effect.
Until it's burnished down, it can be moved to get the placement just right. Once it's burnished down, it sticks very well.
What I like best about it is that it's easy to write on. The finish won't cause inks or paints to bead up. A permanent marker used on this tape doesn't smudge. I like it for crafts, but a few strips put on waxed paper or parchment with a marker make an excellent way to mark drink glasses as well. It comes off the glass easily.
My own favorites are the comic book effect one and the faux bois green.

Complimentary Sample Washi Tape

I received a sample and tried this tape every way I could possibly imagine, great for labeling although I found it best written on with a sharpie because even with a fisher space pen, I had difficulty clearly printing on the tape nevertheless it is indispensable and has come in quite handy. Thank you Scotch, you continue to make high quality, affordable and convenient to use products that truly benefit my everyday! The complimentary sample is very appreciated

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received my Scotch Brand Expressions Washi Tape as a free sample. I love the colors on this tape. The repositioning feature works wonderfully. However, I took 3 separate sections of the tape to check out the writing on it feature and was slightly disappointed. Using a marker worked fantastic with bold clear writing. Pencil was not so good, could tell there was writing there but very faint. The ink pens were a sad disappointment. Regular ink just would not flow onto the tape. A gel pen did slightly better. Overall, I am impressed with the tape and will use it for decorating packages and crafting projects. Will just have to remember to use a marker to write on it.

Free Sample

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a free sample of Washi tape from Scotch. While I have a lot of Washi tape and several from Scotch, the one sample that I received it won't come off of the roll at all, it tears in a layer leaving such a fine layer that you can't remove it, the few instances that I could remove the layer, didn't prove to make a difference. Now the other's Scotch brand one's that I have are fine, it's just this one particular roll.

Hate it!

This is not at all functional! I bought some thin, glittery silver tape today for my daughter's Valentine box. I thought it'd be perfect to help keep the wrapping on and decorate at the same time. It does not stick at all, and keeps coming undone. My daughter is so disappointed, and I'm upset I wasted the money on this dysfunctional product.

Will not unroll!

I like many other reviewers find that I cannot get the tape to unroll. It breaks off into tiny pieces when trying to use it. Sooo disappointed since Scotch is a trusted brand with other products I have purchased. I do not have this problem with other brands of washi tape I own. I also own the glitter tape and while it unrolls easier it does not stick even after trying multiple ways like others have tried. Scotch needs to reevaluate these tapes.
