Great tape for piñatas

We had some tape left over from when we painted our children’s rooms a few months ago. When I needed something to hold a piñata together, I found this tape. It has a really good hold. I’ll be using it for my new found hobby. THANK YOU.

NOT RECOMMENDED for Red Cedar timber.

Masked off 4 solid red cedar doors by mid-day, painted then gently removed tape at 16:00.
The tape came off pulling timber with it over the width of the tape by 1 mtr length.
Tape removed cleanly on the first 3 doors.
This will require specialist restoration work to get the damaged timber back to 'as new'.
More than happy to provide photos if required.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear the FrogTape pulled up bits of the wood. It sounds like there may have been something on the 4th door that affected the way the tape stuck. Preferably, the tape should not be applied to raw wood for this reason. We'd be happy to get more details and see the photos to understand better how this may have happened. This tape is so worth the extra bucks in time savings alone. Love this tape so much that we color matched the tape and painted a bedroom that color. Heh. Sweet color.

Tape does not work like it used to !

We have used the green frog tape for years and thought the extra cost was well worth the improved performance against leaks. My husband is a general contractor and has extensive painting experience. We purchased it this last month and 2 times, the paint leaked through and had to be redone by hand which took many hours. Either the roll we purchased was bad or the product is being produced in a cheaper, less effective way. We have a suspicion it's the latter It worked fine against wood molding but not against other interior, lightly textured wall paint. This same process worked fine on many occasions in the past. Very disappointing. The green tape now works no better than the less expensive ones.

We are sorry to hear you experienced paint bleed. Textured surfaces can be very tricky. We recommend going over the edge of the tape with a 5'n'1 tool or some other flat edge tool to ensure the tape has been pressed down evenly. If you are cutting in a different color, after pressing the tape down, run a thin coat of paint (same color paint you applied tape to) along the edge of the tape, wait 15 minutes then paint your new color. Doing this activates the polymer, and if paint bleeds, it will be the same color paint so it won't be noticeable. I have painted plenty of walls in my life. I have not painted any in quite some time but decided to paint five rooms in my house. I purchased Frogtape for the first time and used it on all my wood trim to prep for painting the walls. I used my nails to seal it to the trim for a nice tight fit (as I have done with the blue and white tapes in the past) and took it off immediately after painting (working by sections) as I have done (and as instructed on the package) and voila!!!!! Hands down THE BEST painters tape I have ever used!!! There were a few spots of paint on the woodwork as expected. I don't expect perfection on anything because of user error (may not have gotten tape right up to wall) and the nature of painting (which can produce bleed etc...) but with a simple wipe with a damp cloth or cotton swab, I had near perfect results! This tape is by far the most superior painters tape I have ever used and I have already recommended it to friends. I will never buy another! Thank you for making my life easier and my rooms more beautiful. Bravo Frogtape!

Paint bled

Used multi-surface Frogtape on a new fiberglass front door with a custom etched glass insert. The latex paint bled under the tape applied to the glass so it was necessary to scape paint the glass. No perfect edge.

excellent for using for splints on broken bones

I broke a bone in a fall in two places, since we could not get to the doctor for a couple of days, my husband used the frog tape to create a splint to immobilize my foot, it worked great!
I would recommend this to a friend!
