Tide original pods now have a an overpowering smell that lingers and lingers. Please dont fix what is not broken.

We appreciate your honest feedback, Paul. We've updated the scent of Tide Original Liquid Laundry detergent to provide a better freshness experience particularly on dry fabrics. The Change will be going from a light, clean, herbal/green scent to a slightly warmer, rich, scent with a bit more woody notes. Today people can choose from many variants of Tide scents. Based on preferences you have described in your letter, we would encourage you to try Tide Mountain Spring which we hope will match your scent expectations.

Why change the scent

If you want to make a new scent, fine. But the new "original" scent is gross. My clothes smell like those pine tree things that you buy at the gas station. I guess I'll be switching brands.

Changed the scent without mentioning it on the label. Don't like the new strong, perfume-like smell. Won't buy again.

I have Asthma and the new scent is to strong. I will not but again.

I have been using Tide with the Original scent for many, many years, and the last one I bought has a different scent - it is perfume-y and overpowering, not fresh and clean like to original scent.

New Scent Smells Like Gas Station Bathroom

Bought a bottle with the new smell today. Frankly, I want my money back. Screw your marketing research, this new scent is overpowering, awful, and smells nothing like the 'Original'. Change it back.
