What happened to the Original smell?

I had switched to more environmentally friendly brands for a while and am just coming back to Tide and was expecting the 'Original' scent to be the the actual original scent. It is very different than it was and is much stronger and more perfumed. I tend to use a very small amount of detergent per load so I figured it would be ok when diluted, but it really isn't and I am not sure who I am going to pawn this bottle off on.

Scent change

Up until recently, I was loyal and dedicated to Tide for all my laundry needs. I loved the original scent and how well it cleaned our clothes. I noticed the scent change instantly and it literally made me sick and gave me a headache. I have never ever smelled a laundry detergent so putrid, overpowering, chemical-like, artificial, and down right nauseating and revolting. I had to re wash all of our laundry twice to get the stench out that this new scent left in the clothes. It even lingers in the laundry room and is noticeable outside when the dryer is running and we’re in a decent proximity to the vent. I am so disappointed. I went back to the store immediately to try another scent and they ALL were the same way. I ended up leaving with a different brand altogether and will be switching permanently due to this. How unfortunate as I’ve only used tide for my entire adult life.
Bottom line: Poor move by changing the scents of the products. You ruined a good thing. Bring back the original scents.

Horrible Scent

I primarily use Tide liquid with Downey, but the store that I was purchasing it did not offer that option. I decided that I would purchase the original tide sent, it’s always been tried and true. Big mistake! To my surprise, the scent is so strong and not anything like the original scent. I don’t understand why the company would make such a drastic change. Very disappointing. Bad marketing decision Proctor and Gamble.

The new scent is HORRIBLE

The bottles look the same, but the new scent is just awful. It lingers everywhere, and it took an hour of wearing a shirt washed with it for my whole body to be covered in itchy hives. After a lifetime of Tide, I’ll be switching to a different brand. Shame on you, Tide.

I went to the store about 2 days ago and was finna wash my clothes and when I opened the tide it smelt weird it was a horrible smell.

The new smell is awful

My whole family has used Tide for forever. The new smell is so strong we have all stopped using it. Please go back to the way it was.

Reliable Clean and Classic Fresh Scent

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve used Tide Original for years, and it continues to be my go-to laundry detergent. It gets clothes looking bright and fresh, even when washing in cold water. The scent is clean and comforting without being too strong, and my laundry always comes out smelling great. I also appreciate that it works well with my HE washer and doesn’t leave any residue.
A little bit goes a long way, so the bottle lasts through plenty of loads. It’s a dependable, high-quality detergent that really lives up to its name. If you want something that just works every time, Tide Original is the way to go.
