I love tide. The

I love tide. The stain fighting power is unmatched in any other detergent and original scent keeps my clothes smelling so fresh and clean! It’s worth the extra $$ over other detergents.

New strong perfume smell

I've been a life-long "original scent" user. Whatever the formula was switched to over the last year-or-so has been horrible. I have to run the rinse cycle three times to get my clothes to not smell like I was assaulted in the perfume aisle. Wearing a shirt with the smell is like wandering around with a can of Lysol being sprayed at my face all day. I'm not sure how it can be billed as "original scent" when it most certainly is not. I'm not sure how even people that actually prefer a scent to their laundry can stand it.
I'll try the "sensitive skin" option and hope it cleans just as well, without the ghastly smell.

Original scent has changed

You changed the scent of Original. I’ve used Tide Original scent for decades as it always left your clothes clean and fresh. Now they smell like cheap perfume. Please bring back the scent from the early 2000s.

Oh this is definitely the best detergent out there in my opinion. My mom used it when I was a kid and she was very particular about laundry. It does a good job of cleaning and it smells decent. As I’ve been an adult I have tried to buy more cost efficient brands but always come back to tide. It does the best job of cleaning.

Smell

Have used Tide for years. Try to always get unscented. Bought Original and it has a terrible odor. It dissipates within a few minutes but in the meantime it is awful. I wish I could explain the smell but I can't, it is just bad. Not sure what change you may have made but hope it goes back to having a clean smell. I always buy the large contain but sure wish I hadn't this time. Thank you and have a great day.
