new scent is awful

My family has used tide since I was born and this new scent is absolutely foul. When it first changed, we started using the “simply clean and fresh” in “refreshing breeze” because it still had the original scent. Plot twist, now even that one smells nasty. Furthermore, the alleged mountain breeze that has the old original scent is nowhere to be found. Explain that. Either change back the original or make it available in some form because I can not live with this new scent. Thanks

Horrible new fragrance for "original"

I finally opened a new bottle of Tide after using up all of my previous stockpile. The smell was so overwhelmingly offensive I thought that there must have been something wrong with it. The scent is so strong and chemical like it was enough to make you nauseous. After going online I found out the "original" isn't the "original" anymore. I have use Tide my entire life but not anymore.
Cons: Price, Satisfaction, Smell
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A Lesson From P

Why? Just a simple question...why take a product that has decades of success and make such a radical change to the scent profile? I thought I was buying the same stuff I had used for years. I did one load of sheets and had to get up at 1AM to take the sheets off the bed and pillows because the scent was overwhelming. It gave me an irritated throat and a headache. I couldn't even bear to have the sheets on the floor in the same room. A barely there scent is what clean laundry should smell like. I don't want my sheets smelling so intensely that it wakes me up at night. And I certainly don't want whatever is left behind on the clothes next to my skin all day or being stronger than any scent I choose to wear. I'm sorry to say this improvement is a huge fail.

I use the Original

I use the Original Scent Liquid Tide because it has HE which my machine recommends me to use. I have been using Tide for years. I used to use the powder, now I love the liquid or pacs. Whenever I would wash like a comforter I always had white soap in my comforter, then I started using the liquid and did not have this problem at all.

The original '90s scent is back

Ok, this will be a little lengthy but stay with me and hear me out. I've been using Tide laundry products for over 40 years and I was around when liquids came on the market and I used them so I know what the fragrance was like back then. When I first started using the liquid Tide in the early 90s it had a unique but simple fragrance which smelled just like a strong soap. Then as the years progressed, people complained that they didn't like their clothes smelling like "laundry soap" so the era of "fruity, floral, disgraceful scents" was born and every detergent manufacturer followed that trend and folks were happy but I was not so I went back to powder AND another brand. Then folks got tired of of heady, headache inducing aroma of "flowers and sweet tarts" recently and wanted something else; hence it seems that Tide has reverted back to the old scent of Tide liquid with just a few minor adjustments to the fragrance. I decided to try it and I was very surprised to find that it had that old familiar soap smell with just a hint of "perfume" but not the sickeningly sweet fragrance from just a short time ago. When the proper amount is used per load of laundry, clothes come out of the dryer with just enough fragrance to notice but not enough to overwhelm you.
In conclusion; each generation that gets introduced to Tide's line of laundry products will always have some gripe or compliment. Those of us who were around when the original scent of the powder and later the liquid are really the ones who notice how much or little the scent has changed over the years.
P.S. The only reason I gave 4-stars for value is due to the price still being one of highest among laundry detergents but still pretty good since I'm still getting Tide's signature clean.

I love this product it’s great to make slime no cons at all pros are smells good activates slime good you can not improve this product and it’s not to affordable but it’s worth the product 100% recommend
