Nice for visual on bundles of items for quick picking. BUT-store use to carry #117 gum bands (not colored and in large bag) which these colored ones are. Price difference not worth it. #117 not carried in the store! Big price difference and I did not care about "color" just usefulness. So if you need quick visual ID of bundles the colored ones are great but for general use-not worth the price difference.

Big Rubber Bands

OMG - I LOVE these! In this day and age few people actually hold a book in their hands while they read it. Me? I need to have the hard copy of the book in my hands. I need to turn those pages. I haven't used a book mark in years though. My bookmark of choice is always a very large rubber band. I wrap it around the pages as I finish them. I never lose my place this way. Okay - once in a while the rubber band eventually breaks but they seem to last forever - like years! They're very strong quite thick and durable. I LOVE them!
Exactly what I did for banding file folders and large envelopes together

Every Office/Household Should Have Them

The size and strenth of Staples large rubber bands are the advantages. They don't break while stretching them over a large quantity of papers or materials. I get very frustrated when I need one and the supply is gone. Smaller rubber bands do not stretch as far break and snap and often hit me in the process!
