I use them to keep file pockets together. I have a large collection of children's books sorted by author. Each is in a pocket file and sometimes they need the extra help of the large rubber band.

Large durable rubber bands hold together project folders binders and over-stuffed files. Tend to last longer than smaller versions over summer recess and in heated areas.
