These bands can hold lots of papers and folders together. You can stretch them without breaking them. We've bought them frequently over the years (we've got a lot of things to bundle together) and they don't seem to wear out or get crinkley and break over time. The color variety is nice but doesn't seem to have any affect on the holding power and we haven't tried to use them for color coding but you could do that. I even used one to hold pieces together for a superglue repair fix on an awkard shape and it held fine.

Great for Holding Files together

When you have lots of files that need to be kept together these rubber bands are the greatest. They are large enough to get the job done yet they are not so tight that you are going to get "snapped" when you remove it to use the file. I use them to keep me organized.

I have bought the large file rubber bands previously and was a bit disappointed in the new product. The original package I purchased was 1/4# and seemed to have more for the money I spent. Also previous product was "Made in America" which I was happy to be able to buy and support American-made business. In the future I would be more likely to continue purchasing this size rubber band from Staples if they were Made in America and not imported from another country. I appreciate being able to shop locally at your store and strongly encourage your purchasing "Made in America" products.

OMG - I LOVE these! In this day and age few people actually hold a book in their hands while they read it. Me? I need to have the hard copy of the book in my hands. I need to turn those pages. I haven't used a book mark in years though. My bookmark of choice is always a very large rubber band. I wrap it around the pages as I finish them. I never lose my place this way. Okay - once in a while the rubber band eventually breaks but they seem to last forever - like years! They're very strong quite thick and durable. I LOVE them!
