The size 10.8" H x 14.2" W x 18" D allows multiple use with either letter or legal size documents. The rail enables one to place hanging files securely. I am using this to file hard copies of documents for a nonprofit organization. If computer files don't have integrity when it comes time to pass the files to the next facilitator we'll have hard copies to refer to.

The plastic is thinner on this sfile box than previously purchased ones. It wasnt strong enough to withstand shipping with several reams of paper inside it. Staples quickly replaced it when I reported it cracked & broken when the box was delivered.

Bought this for some extra files that needed to be stored and accessed once in a while. Fairly sturdy cover closes but is not completely secure. Good for light to medium usage... not sure I would stack them.
