Easy to Use Shredder

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Micro-Cut Shredder is amazing! It is so easy to use and is so efficient at shredding paper. From the moment I unboxed the shredder to the first use was a breeze. The shredder came all together. I plugged it in turned the switch button to on and just waited for the ready power light to turn on before using. I was able to shred up to 12 sheets at a time with no issues including staples. The shredder is not noisy at all which is a plus. When I was done shredding I pulled out the bin and couldn’t believe how small the paper was shredded. The shredder is small enough to fit perfectly under my desk. For the size of the shredder the bin capacity is a decent size. This shredder will definitely be put to good use!

Great compact shredder

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I hadn’t bought a shredder in probably 10 years when I tried this one out—turns out new shredders are better than they used to be! It’s compact not too loud and feels safer to use than my old shredder. The best part of this one is that it is probably half the size of my old 8-page one but can do 12 sheets with no problem. Saving both time shredding and space to store the shredder is such a great change for our small home (and I’ve already given my old own away). I’m really happy with this and see us using this for another 10 years.

Nice compact shredder

I’m always very wary of my information ending up in the trash especially things like credit card offers. The shredder was the perfect size for keeping in my kitchen and just shredding all of the junk that comes in. I think it’s a little bit too small to be used for any other purpose the bin capacity just is not large enough to me for anything besides mail. I did find I needed to empty it pretty frequently. I definitely did feel that it shredded everything small enough it was not super loud and absolutely served my purposes. It is great if you have a smaller home like I do!

Perfect for Home Use

The shredder is super quiet never has any issues with overheating and shreds documents down to an extremely small size. It is very compact and easily fit into our home office space. The fill bin is a tiny bit smaller than most but I am not shredding every day so it works perfectly for our needs. I would absolutely recommend this product to a friend! You really can’t beat the quality of this shredder at this size.

Great Compact Shredder

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really liked this shredder it's really efficient can handle a lot and I didn't feel like I had to go back through and reshred any of my sensitive documents. Besides the fact that it sheds everything into nice secure small pieces it makes it easier to dispose of the sheds and doesn't take up an entire trash bag. The sound level is what I would expect too it's not real loud but it sounds about the same as any others I've used. It is very compact though and the way the tray is removed is really nice as well. Easy to store which is great when you don't have a ton of space. Overall I'd highly recommend this shredder!

Grown Up Power in a Baby Shredder

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have you ever felt like your life was a mess of papers bills receipts and junk mail? Have you ever wished you could just shred it all and start fresh? Well that's exactly what I did with the help of the Staples Mailmate 12-sheet Micro-Cut Shredder. Okay so my life isn’t that dramatic but I do like to shred things due to past identity theft issues and credit card theft. This shredder is micro but you couldn’t tell based on how effective it was with paper credit cards and dare I say. . .even paper clips. I already have a large shedder that takes quite a bit of square footage in my wife’s office so we were pleasantly surprised by the following features: a compact design a large bin capacity 8-minute run time and a 12-sheet maximum that can handle staples and small paper clips. When the shredder arrived I was eager to test it out. I plugged it in and was amazed by how fast and quiet it was as it shredded through my papers like butter. It is faster than our current shredder twice its size and didn't jam or overheat with items like staples and paper clips. It could just be me and not reading directions previously on other shredders I killed but the directions were quite clear on this box. The 8-minute run time and cool time of 45 minutes along with the warning lights will help me maximize the life of this shredder. It says “micro” right in the name and for a shredder it certainly is tiny as it looked like the size of some of the papers I was shredding. Even for the size it has a very large basket but will still require it to be emptied several times for large jobs however the bin capacity should be plenty for a normal person or family. I think the only downsides are its weight and that I couldn’t find bags lying around to fit in the bin as I try to avoid transferring the shredded materials to separate trash bags. This thing is HEAVY and possibly weighs as much or more than our other shredder but to me it seems more like a well-made product than an inconvenience. I would also suggest finding a corner of a table (we used the kitchen island) rather than the floor because it wouldn’t be ergonomic due to the small stature. The size power quality and safety features has us getting rid of our old shredder. While this is small enough to keep on the corner of a large desk it is more convenient for us to store it in the garage and bring it out when needed to free up space in the office. One of the biggest selling points is the location of the shred teeth and they are deep compared to our past shredders that are right on top of the unit. This gives us a since of security as we have 3 small children under the age of 4 and all seem to be attracted to the shredder for some reason. While we generally have our shredder unplugged until needed I would feel comfortable keeping this one on and walking away while the children were present.
