Had my last Mailmate shredder for 6 years. So far it's only been a week seems ok. Don't know why though when I turn it on it actually makes noise like its shredding then stops. Other unit didn't do that....It just turned on and only ran when I started to input paper. Guess it's kind of annoying. Why they change this? So far it works ok. The shredding is tiny good...it's a bit harder due to the width of the take out drawer to get the contents into my home garbage can I take it out by handful so nothing spills onto the floor. A bit inconvenient....not like my old one. Shape has changed a bit. Works ok like I said.

Great shredder for home office

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was a little skeptical of this shredder before it arrived unsure whether it could meet my home office needs but it overdelivered! I could put full folded pieces of mail in there and they were easily shredded. Old credit cards and insurance cards? No problem at all! This shredder outperformed my older one by so much that it was easy to move this one into its place. It’s smaller and more compact than my last one but more than gets the job done. Other benefits: - the bin had good capacity despite it being smaller than my previous shredder. - it was quieter than my previous shredder - shreds pretty quickly

bin is way too small so one have to keep emptying it!! how hard would it be to make a deeper bin??

This is my third shredder; my other two were a bit larger and were purchased from another company. This one is quieter and does the job but it's a bit "touchier" than my previous shredders (more apt to shut off for periods of time).
