My TRU RED black ink pens write well with little skipping and only slight tendency to soak through the paper. But I noticed on a paper that had a cold drink on it the condensation from the glass had pretty much made the writing disappear. Tested a TRU RED a Jetstream and a Sharpie let dry 20 minutes after writing and then dribbled a few drops of city tap water on it. The TRU RED immediately started running and blurring the other two pen lines did not run noticeably even after several minutes. TRU RED appears good for writing notes for short-term use but I would not recommend for checks legal documents or anything important that you need to keep for a long time - other pens are much more resistant to water spills.
