I have used Ziploc gallon storage bags for decades. I've loved them until the last box I bought. It must've been defective. I used two different bags to hold raw meat and both bags leaked blood all in my refrigerator which ruined other food.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Easier to fill for sure

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have seen this many times in the store and honestly figured it was just a gimmick. I got the chance to try and review a free sample of these and have to say that while the bottome doesn't look much different I did find it easier to fill this style without having to hold on to the top.

Defective box of freezer bags

I bought a four pack of large box of gallon size freezer grip n seal bags and every bag has ripped along the fold line when I grab the bag to simply move them or they tear as I'm carrying the bag from the freezer. I have tried putting less items in the bags but they still rip. I expect better quality from Ziplock.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have been using Ziploc storage and freezer bags for many years and have always been a satisfied customer. My only suggestion would be that I wish they had a super thick freezer bag for freezing shrimp. The shrimp tails of fresh shrimp are relatively sharp and will penetrate freezer bags, therefore making freezing of them difficult. But other than that one suggestion, I have and will continue to use Ziploc brand bags.

Greatly improved to the bags I remember

Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised. I have not used Ziploc brand bags in quite some time. These gallon storage bags are much improved to what I remember. Now, when you close the bag, you can actually feel and hear the bag is securely closed. The bottom of the bag seems to be reinforced as well. They definitely have a more sturdy feel. Overall, Ziploc has greatly improved the storage bag. Moving forward, given a choice, I will reach for Ziploc brand

This bag is an improvement from other bags with a zipper top. It is easy to pull open and closes all the way across with just one motion, no open spaces left. It also keep food fresh and is a good container for holding different kinds of items when travelling. I like it and will buy this type of Ziploc bag in the future.

I hate the new Ziploc Easy Open bags for all the reasons others have mentioned. They are hard to close, the top portion of the bag rips almost every time I open them, and they are just garbage!!! I've been a faithful Ziploc purchaser for years. I use a lot! These new bags just feel of inferior quality. I'm a teacher and I use the bags for students to take home a book every day in, and I've been through twice as many bags this year because they keep splitting open on the sides and the kids loose their books. More money on Ziplocs means I have less money to spend on other important things for my classroom. Please go back to the old bags or I will be looking for another brand!
