Great folders!

These folders are exactly what I needed. There is no problem with the sliding tabs they held up after I added files. I imagine if you are stuffing it too much there will be issues like some people described here. They hold up fine when used properly. I expanded the file fully before I put the folders in and they work great.

Pretty good except for...

They are spacious and work great when sitting on the bottom of the file drawer but when even half filled they are heavy enough that the slide-out plastic hanging file supports are totally inadequate. They flex and bend to the point where they won't do the intended job. I'm not returning them because they work to segregate my files by type and color but if you really want a hanging file stick with something that has permanent metal supports.

Staples expanding hanging files

This is a great product. I like that it keeps everything enclosed in one place without going out the sides like traditional hanging files. They are sturdy too. I put some brochures and magazines in one and it is still hanging despite the weight. I like that the hanging tabs can be retracted into the file while not in storage. However I feel that that portion of the file could be a little more sturdy. But in general it is a great product and I would recommend it to anyone with a small office.

Not what I expencted.

I bought two packs and an returning one. Don't like the hooks that slide out of the top fold. they slip back into hiding much too easily and just getting them all to stay out so I could get them onto the drawer rails was difficult. And I don't like the poly material. It doesn't give very much at least not like the heavy paper ones do So you really don't get a full extension.

These folders are worthless. The retractable hangers are made of a very flimsy plastic and they bend as soon as you add files. The accordian sides are a nusiance getting caught on everything.

A good idea but...

I really wanted to like these but they're just a little too fussy for most filing. If you just want to store a bunch of papers and small things (like envelopes or receipts) these are great as the contained sides help keep things inside. If you want to use them with files however you'll be better off with a more traditional filing system. Getting folders to fit inside is a bit of a trick with the accordian folds on the edges. As far as other features go the movable hanging tabs (?) are nice if you're taking the file in your bag and the colors look nice inside your filing cabinet.

Finally... something that holds up really good and the quality and sturdiness adds to the longevity of the file holder. The retractable file hangers provide flexibility in hanging them or not. I have not used them for hanging just yet but so far so good.
