A good idea but...

I really wanted to like these but they're just a little too fussy for most filing. If you just want to store a bunch of papers and small things (like envelopes or receipts) these are great as the contained sides help keep things inside. If you want to use them with files however you'll be better off with a more traditional filing system. Getting folders to fit inside is a bit of a trick with the accordian folds on the edges. As far as other features go the movable hanging tabs (?) are nice if you're taking the file in your bag and the colors look nice inside your filing cabinet.

Used these at less than their 3 1/2 inch expansion but the weight was too heavy for the plastic hooks. One hook snapped off and several became distorted. Also some of the bottom pleats sunk causing the files to be at various heights. Had to return them.

Keeping it together !

This particular item fits very nicely in a file drawer handy box or portable file type boxes. I needed this to keep small receipts together yet can be taken out of the drawer for all those items needed for tax time. I hope to have a better system this year as this will undoubtedly prove to be quite an organizing item.
