These files don’t come close to expanding 3 1/2”. They hold barely more than a regular file folder. A waste of money. Plus being plastic the accordion style is hard to hold its shape.

These are very good quality especially for the price! Bought another [...]..just 1! but thought it would be a really nice one. No comparison...these are by far better and you get 5 for the same price! Hooks are retractable and they work with my Viewables labels (also highly recommended). Did not give 5 stars because I would much rather have all 1 color. I color code my cabinet but only 1 of these colors worked for me. I'm using Rit fabric dye (works on plastic) to dye the other 4 black.

I don't expect these to last very long which is a shame... but the plastic around the folds is already showing signs of wear. But other than that they work perfectly for keeping my curriculum in order!

So far so good. They appear to be sturdy and are able to hold a lot (only had them for a week). Thick stacks of paper might be hard to put in. You have to open the folder really wide so the sides are flat and make sure the papers are stacked together evenly.

Don't hold up well

My biggest issue with these hanging folders is the hangers are plastic and don't hold up under the weight of my documents. These should be a lot more sturdy considering they expand to 3.5" or at least the hangers could be made of metal.
