Tough Lead

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used mechanical pencils since I was in grade school. I like the fact that there is no need for sharpening, but the one thing I did not like is that most lead breaks easily. I was surprised that BIC Velocity Mechanical Pencil lead does not easily break even if I write heavily. Because of this feature, this product has my two thumbs up.

Then I brought the rest to my job and passed them out to my co-workers. I have had 2 co-workers exclaim how nice they are. The Velocity is a smooth writer and quite easy to hold. I passed out all the coupons at the school registration at the high school of my district.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kids having been using the BIC Velocity Mechanical Pencils for a while now. This has inspired them to write more. We homeschool and they love being able to choose their own colors. My son has one issue with the entire pencil experience. He absolutely loves the smooth writing and comfortable grip of the pencil, as well as, how dark the lead writes. However, he doesn't feel the eraser can fully erase the dark marks. He thinks the erasers need improving. I did notice on some of his writings that the mistakes that were erased were still visible. Otherwise, we all love the pencils! I will definitely be buying more.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] At this time I cannot imagine my daughters using a different mechanical pencil during the school year unless BIC decides to invent an even better version of this VELOCITY model. The lead writes smooth and dark, which is an improvement over any other lead my daughters have used to date. They no longer use any other pencils as they now prefer to use only these.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love to write in pencil but I find myself disliking it to because I have had those experiences with mechnical pencils where you write and then the lead breaks and then you write and the lead breaks and you get where I am going with this. Well the BIC Velocity Mechanical Pencils are not that type of pencils. It almost feels like you are writing with a pen it feels so smooth. Sometimes you also have the issue with the lead where it gets bumpy but I also did not have that issue. I also like that these have very nice colors but they are not overly out there. I can have them at work and I can also have them in my bag for running around. They are very versatile. My children also used them for school and they commented and said they wanted me to buy more of those good" pencils."
