[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried these BIC Velocity Mechanical Pencils and my daughter tried them. I thought they would be like any other mechanical pencil but they are NOT. They sit in our hands perfect and the lead does not break like those other mechanical pencils. I have used my BIC Velocity Mechanical Pencil every day and I have not had to refill it yet. I still have lead left over. My daughter is in high school and she uses it all day every day and she is amazed at how well these BIC Velocity Mechanical Pencils work.

I've bought all different brands, usually whatever was on sale. I have to say, they were pretty impressed with these, specifically the strong leadership that doesn't easily break from writing too hard. They also liked that these come with lead and eraser refills. I also tried them myself and was impressed by how comfortable the grip is. This is definitely a brand we'll stick with.

I homeschool my daughter and she drives me absolutely batty how often she would sharpen her pencils. She likes her pencils to be really sharp which she can only achieve by sharpening often. With BIC Velocity, she doesn't ever have to sharpen and has a sharp point consistently! Better yet, I can read her work easier because they write dark and with a fineness that doesn't make her words jumbled together. She is happy because these come in her favorite color...pink! I am thrilled because I no longer have to listen to that pencil sharpener!

The Perfect Pencil!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received 2 packs of BIC Velocity Mechanical Pencils as part of this great Bzz campaign. Each pack contained 5 pencils in different colors a small tube of refillable erasers (what!) and a small tube of refillable lead. I gave a pack to my daughter to keep for school in September because she was just so excited when she saw them. According to her, these are definitely cool enough for middle school... phew! She loves mechanical pencils... lol she really does and so last year once in a while I would bring home a mechanical pencil or two from work (shhhh) for her but they are just the plain yellow Papermate ones we have at the office. I have never actually bought mechanical pencils because I just didn't think they were good enough for the money. When we saw, these we couldn't wait to try them so I opened the other pack and gave her the blue and purple ones... her favorite colors...yay and I took pink, yellow and orange. Ok so yes I have a favorite too, orange but since I was going to review them, I had to look at more than just the cool colors although I will admit they are definitely much nicer to look at than the plain yellow ones. Compared to the Papermate mechanical pencils I had been using, these were definitely better. I love that they are refillable so already better than all those other ones that aren't. Not only can you refill the lead but you can replace the eraser too and both very easily which means that you don't waste the nice pencil even though you have used up the lead or eraser. The BIC pencils are thicker and have a cushioned grip that is very comfortable to hold. They write with a nice, smooth and dark, sharpness without having to press down extra hard and then worry that the lead is going to snap. Not what you would expect from a mechanical pencil but exactly what would expect from a regular pencil. They don't need sharpening which is nice since I have taken my" colors to work and we don't actually have a pencil sharpener there. I also like that they erase well and cleanly which is important to me

They write smoothly and erase easily without a lot of pressure. Love how easy these are to refill with extra lead that comes with it. The eraser is easy to change out too. We are really happy with these and can't wait to share them with others.Trying the product for free thanks to BIC.
