Smooth and Steady

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I appreciate everything about the Bic Velocity Mechanical Pencils that I received for free, from Bic, in return for my honest opinion. The retractable tip and the comfort grip are the two best assists! The retractable tip guides lead to the paper and then stabilizes the lead as you write, this makes for a smooth pen-like feeling. The comfort grips, along with the fact that the pencil is round, makes for painless writing. I remember the mechanical pencils from my younger years, when they were squared off, and by my second paragraph, my fingers were cramped and branded by the seams of the pencil. The innovated technology of a rounded pencil and built in comfort grips are extraordinary! I received 2-5 packs of the Bic Velocity pencils, each pack came with 12 extra non toxic leads and 5 extra non toxic durable erasers. The leads are 0.7 mm, and #2 hb making the perfect for school testing. These pencils are simply remarkable, going above and beyond my expectation of a mechanical pencil.

Daughter stole them

My 16 yr old who loves mechanical pencils saw them waited for me to get up and get a drink and she stole them and ran off. She says they are great, she likes the study feel and the grip. My only complaint is the leads don't hold a decent fine point without breaking.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While the colors were refreshing and fun the overall product wasn't much different than previous mechanical pencils. My son is hard on them and while these served the basic purpose of a writing utensil they didn't hold up as I had hoped. I was expecting a sturdier lead and less shedding from the erasers. On the plus side they did provide replacement erasers which is rare. In speaking with other Mom's they shared similar experiences. So, ultimately they write and erase as needed but nothing beyond what any other mechanical pencil has to offer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I was in.college a few years back, I tried many many mechancal pencils. And, as an accounting major, many erasers. Some pencils had teeny-tiny erased. I felt like they were mocking me. Some lead broke constantly so I had to start carrying refills with me everywhere. My hand would cramp and I have permanent callouses. I wish in had the BICVelocity pencil then. As an accountant, if it isn't done in excel or accounting systems, I am using a pencil. Some may even call me a pencil snob.....well....we have a winner! What I love about the BICVelocity pencil (aside from the fact there is a pink one!!!!) is the nice big eraser that completely erases! I love the nice, squishy grip.....no more cramps. I also love the dark lead that doesn't constantly break. All in all, this gives my super expensive mechanical pencil I got for graduation a run for the money!!!

They write down each day what they did and have enjoyed using the pencils. Blue, orange, and purple were their color picks. My youngest has already told me he would like these pencils for school this year. He loves that they came with extra lead. He seems to always be running out of lead! I will definitely be looking for them this year!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Normally I don't care for mechanical pencils. They tend to break too easily and make that horrible nails on a chalkboard" sound. So when I first received the BIC velocity pencils I was skeptical to say the least. Imagine my surprise at how much I actually enjoyed using them. The lead in the pencil is stronger than most mechanical pencils I have used in the past. I can write with them without them breaking like I am used to. It also has a smooth writing surface and I have not once heard the annoying sound I'm used to hearing. I had my daughter use some for school to see her reaction. She has the same problem as I do about the lead breaking easily. She asked me to get her some more as that she loves BIC velocity mechanical pencils. I was happy to oblige. I have since recommended to all the parents I know and have received the same reaction from them and their children. They all love BIC velocity mechanical pencils."
