BIC Velocity Mechanical Pencils

The Perfect Pencil!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received 2 packs of BIC Velocity Mechanical Pencils as part of this great Bzz campaign. Each pack contained 5 pencils in different colors a small tube of refillable erasers (what!) and a small tube of refillable lead. I gave a pack to my daughter to keep for school in September because she was just so excited when she saw them. According to her, these are definitely cool enough for middle school... phew! She loves mechanical pencils... lol she really does and so last year once in a while I would bring home a mechanical pencil or two from work (shhhh) for her but they are just the plain yellow Papermate ones we have at the office. I have never actually bought mechanical pencils because I just didn't think they were good enough for the money. When we saw, these we couldn't wait to try them so I opened the other pack and gave her the blue and purple ones... her favorite colors...yay and I took pink, yellow and orange. Ok so yes I have a favorite too, orange but since I was going to review them, I had to look at more than just the cool colors although I will admit they are definitely much nicer to look at than the plain yellow ones. Compared to the Papermate mechanical pencils I had been using, these were definitely better. I love that they are refillable so already better than all those other ones that aren't. Not only can you refill the lead but you can replace the eraser too and both very easily which means that you don't waste the nice pencil even though you have used up the lead or eraser. The BIC pencils are thicker and have a cushioned grip that is very comfortable to hold. They write with a nice, smooth and dark, sharpness without having to press down extra hard and then worry that the lead is going to snap. Not what you would expect from a mechanical pencil but exactly what would expect from a regular pencil. They don't need sharpening which is nice since I have taken my" colors to work and we don't actually have a pencil sharpener there. I also like that they erase well and cleanly which is important to me

Perfect pencil

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recieved the Bic Velocity Mechanical Pencils free from BzzAgent for giving my opinion. I had my 5 year old try them out. She loved them. She said its easy for her to grip and hold. I see while she is using them she is able to write neater than what she did before. I have since recommended , shared and purchased some for school. They are worth the price and having the coupons that came with them makes it even a better bargain.

We will be watching a show and everybody has their pencils and writes words they hear on the tv! Great practice for our handwriting!

Awesome New Pencils!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So excited to receive my new Bzzkit! My kids loved these pencil before they even used them because of the bright colors. I immediately noticed the extra lead and thought how I've never had that included with any of the pencil packs we usually purchase for back to school. How handy! While my kids broke them out to start drawing with, I used one with my word search book. Unfortunately, they don't write any easier on the newsprint paper than regular pencils. That's a huge pet peeve of mine - having to use pens for those! The lead does work wonderfully on regular white computer paper, though. The eraser did not smear which will be great for the kids' assignments when school starts. They are already the go-to pencils for my son and daughter!

My 10 year old is getting to the age of not liking a regular #2 pencil. She prefers a mechanical, so these couldn't have come at a better time. She's super stoked about getting to take a couple to school this year! She's constantly sitting down and writing stories or drawing pictures! She loves the colors and the fact that when she makes a mistake, she can easily erase it. These are, by far, the easiest and most effectively erasable (if that makes sense) mechanical pencils we have ever used. I love the fact that the lead is stronger and, therefore, we go through less of it because it's breaking a lot less frequently! The only somewhat negative comment I could possibly come up with is that I would have loved to have seen more replacement lead (since there are 5 pencils in the pack). That's not a deal breaker, though, since these pencils are great! I struggle with my fingers hurting where I grip the pencil and I've used this one for an hour straight and it doesn't happen thanks to the gripper on the end! I would definitely recommend these pencils to everyone, students, teachers, office personnel, etc., and have! I have shared a couple that I received in my freebies and look forward to sharing the coupons I received, after I use a couple to boost my own stock!

Best Mechanical Pencil Ever

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like how comfortable this Pencil fits in my hand. It is thicker then most other mechanical pencils and has a grip for your fingers. Upon first glance I thought it was a pen. It looks real nice too. There is a cap for the eraser and a clip so you can attach it to some papers or a notebook. The plastic feels more durable then other pencils on the market. This mechanical Pencil has metal at the tip that hold the lead in place which is real nice. The lead stays put and does not want to slide back inside. The design of this Velocity mechanical pencil was well thought out. Thank you Bic I found my new favorite writing tool
