[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son is going into his freshman year of high school, and he will not open the pack of mechanical pencils. This kid is treating them like gold. He sees how nice the ones his sister has are. He tried hers out and they write nice and smooth. The lead doesn't snap right off. He said the eraser even works great. I guess he is just making sure he has them all nice and together for school.

The lead is strong and dark. The variety of colorful cases can brighten any writing task. When you run out of lead, that's ok, they're refillable too!

I could not get the lead to not break no matter how soft I wrote or how hard I pressed. Also the eraser did not erase completely. Sorry to be brutal.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We're big fans of mechanical pencils, and I honestly don't remember the last time my children asked me to buy those plain, boring yellow #2 pencils. When my boys tore into my BzzAgent package of BIC Velocity mechanical pencils, they immediately put them to use. As a parent, I love that these pencils are convenient to use and don't require sharpening. I also love that they're ready to go right out of the package. The boys remarked several times about the smooth tips and how they seemed to glide over the paper they were drawing on. The barrels are very easy to grip and the lead is thick and dark, so whatever you write or draw comes out clear and vivid. Erasing didn't create a mess either, like it does with regular pencils, and that is a huge plus. The package comes in a wide assortment of fun colors, so you can easily pick and choose a different color for every day of the week, and these colors are suitable for both boys AND girls. The container that houses the lead refills is sturdy and holds up much better in my son's crowded backpack than the flimsy breakable containers that so often come with other brands of mechanical pencils. After sampling the Velocity variety, I'm positive our family of four will never settle for boring yellow #2 pencils ever again. Kudos to BIC for another wonderful product!

He ran around the house trying to find pencils that he would actually use, and yelling how we had no such pencils... I however had a package of Big Velocity Pencils waiting for him. He didn't say it.. but i know he was pretty happy with me... I mean he smiled!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We all loved the Bic VelocityÆ Mechanical Pencils! The comfy grip and cool colors really sold my kids (they are 15 and 17 yrs old). I liked that the lead is stronger so it isn't always breaking off. That drives me nuts and is so wasteful. The handy lead and eraser case is also nice. The erasers were easy to replace and I found them to erase well. I would definitely recommend these and I expect we will buy them in the future - especially since there was a coupon in the paper recently.
