[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kids thinks these are awesome. I think they're pretty cool also. At first I thought oh gee another mechanical pencil ( sarcasm). But I was surprised. It looked like a really nice pen and had a good weight to it. The writing was very smooth and similar to a pen. The kids loved the bright colors and ease of holding it.

But when we tried these out, they proved more than just flashy. These pencils are amazing! We loved how well they wrote and how fun the colors were. If you're planning on buying them, though, you might want to pick up more than one of these packs - you can't get enough of them!

I remember the squeak of the lead as the biggest negative. I have none of that type of feedback for these pencils. No squeaky lead and the pencil writes like a pen---lead instead of ink. Super smooth!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There is nothing quite like a pencil in your hand. One that has the smooth lead that creates the best contrast of charcoal against white paper. The BIC Velocity Mechanical Pencils are my new favorites. They are comfortable to hold short periods of writing or for longer lengths. Easy to erase and the lead writes smoothly. It's one of those pencils you almost want to make up something to write just to have an excuse to use it. I made my shopping list, little notes around the house, love letters to my husband, writing down just about everything. It's nice to see even my kids having enthusiasm towards these pencils and writing. They have been doing more journey writing since I have them each one of their own to use. These pencils are some of the best I've ever used.
