These new mechanical pencils are so ideal for so many projects.I never have to worry about stopping what I'm doing to go sharpen my pencil when it runs out of lead.This pencil goes and goes and goes and all I have to do is click,click,click! I never run out of lead and it never lets me down.I love how it erases very clean leaving no streaks behind and comes in a few fun colors as well. Mechanical pencils are a right of passage going from elementary to junior high. He also loves that the lead doesn't smudge. He is left handed and writing can sometimes be problematic keeping your hands clean. No problems with these pencils."

I gave him a BIC Velocity mechanical pencil to try and he ended up loving it. It didn't break on him and he loved the fun colors.

Just taking them out of the package they seemed to be very sturdy and seems like they wouldn't break easily we have had others that have been easily broken. They have smooth writing as well. I have always tried to buy BIC products in the past cause they have always seemed to b better quality than any of the others. Will definitely buy these to use thru out the school year

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I will pick mechanical pencils over traditional pencils any day. I love fine point pens, so .5 lead mechanical pencils are my preference. But the colors and comfort of the BIC Velocity stood out. The package came in 5 different colors and refills for lead and erasers. I immediately gave it a try on a sheet that was closes to me. It was smooth, really smooth! Then found out that it was an important paper, I erase my writing and it was clean! WOW! I'm going to let my Kinder use this since the lead are strong and will hold up for his writing practices. It's a keeper!
