[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think that the new velocity mechanical pencil from BIC is a winner in my house, where i have 9 year old nephew that isnt really into writting or reading much, hetook 2 of these to school on wednesday, and on thursday i got a note from his teacher stating how she didnt know what i did but my nephew has completed more work in the last 2 days then he has since school started. So i would say yes he gets alot more done with these pencils! So thank you BIC and the bzz for my cool samples!

The lead erases very nicely and doesn't leave residue on the page. All in all these are a great writing tool that I'm glad to have tried! They make writing my short stories a lot more fun!

They look more like a pen than a pencil and they come in bright colors. I like that the tip looks more like a pen to keep the lead from breaking and the lead erases easily.

They write extremely smoothly and are very comfortable to hold. We homeschool and so we go through pencils like crazy! All 4 of my kids loved switching to these pencils. The included extra lead and erasers was a huge bonus. The only problem we had with them was the clip breaking off, but that doesn't really affect the pencil's use at all for us.

I have used mechanical pencils for a long time I was really pleased with the bright colors of these pencils. The grip on the pencil is great for writing and taking notes it is so comfortable. The writing of the pencil is so smooth I am really pleased with these mechanical pencils.
