Assembly required?

I bought a package of these to put on the corners of several wall hangings to help keep them straight. Every time I pulled a bumper from the backing, though, the double-stick tape peeled off the item and I had to peel it from the backing and try to add it to the bumper in order for it to be effective. Several ended up unusable because the double-stick tape folded in on itself. I passed on the generic option and spent more for the Scotch brand product but was not impressed.

Superior Bumpers

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 3M sent me a sample of the Scotch Bumpers to evaluate, which I happily did, and they were the best bumpers I've ever used. All of the bumpers (of unknown manufacturer) that were originally installed on my kitchen cabinet doors and drawers had fallen off, and I kept forgetting to purchase new ones, so these showed up at the perfect time. I immediately installed the bumpers in all of the places the former bumpers were installed. The Scotch Bumpers have remained steadfastly in place and really do reduce the noise when the doors and drawers are closed. I think I'll use the rest of the bumpers in the package on drawers and cabinet doors in my bathrooms too!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product free from 3M to evaluate. They work just as they are supposed to! I like that they are transparent so they aren’t too noticeable. They keep my solid wood cabinets from slamming hard closed against each other. I also like that they are bigger than my other bumpers. I put them together for comparison in the picture. I feel like they absorb shock better that way. They stick great and haven’t budged since I placed them on there a week ago.

Didn't Perform as Hoped

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received these Scotch Bumpers for free as part of a trial. Some of them did not stay stuck to the inside of my cabinet doors and didn't buffer the noise of my cabinet doors shutting. I had high hopes for these bumpers because our cabinet doors don't have handles and the door springs snap them shut with a bang. These bumpers did get a workout as my cats have the annoying habit of opening and slamming the cabinet doors in the bathrooms and the kitchen when they get anxious or demanding attention or food. Once in a while they slam the cabinet doors in the middle of the night and this is the main reason I wanted these bumpers to work.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Easy to apply

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I volunteer to evaluate products for 3m, and the company recently sent me a free sample of Scotch Bumpers for cabinets and drawers. They were very easy to apply. I just wiped the surface down with a little bit of alcohol and then applied to door of cabinet. Yes it did dampen the closure sound since I dont have slow closing cabinet doors. I haven't tried them on anything else but I think they would work great on picture frames so that the frame doesn't scratch the wall especially if it is a large heavy frame. I love these and the clear color so you won't have see them.

Will help prevent scratching of surfaces, but.....

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] .....the product also claims to prevent noise and help cabinet doors to close quietly. I did not find that to be true. Cabinets and drawers still make the same amount of noise when closed. The bumpers are hard and thick, so a cabinet or drawer may appear to be cracked open when using these bumpers. I would recommend using them for the bottom of coasters or on the back of picture frames, but not cabinets or drawers. I would prefer to use a softer felt like material for cabinets or drawers.
