Can't get the backing off!

I love this tape and would have given it 5 stars, but would love for you to make the sticky part the slightest bit narrower, so I can get the backing off!!! (might save you a bit as well!)

Great Product for Smooth Surfaces

Great for the slick panels of cubicle walls. Tried regular 1-sided scotch tape but it would peel itself off by the end of the day. This poster tape is the perfect replacement, adheres to even the slick surface of the cubicle wall.
Several reviewers complaining about separating the backing seem to have difficulty problem solving. However, it does require some care when applying. Tear off and apply to the poster first, then I use the edge of a utility knife to separate the paper backing.

problematic application process

Nearly impossible to remove the protective layer. Had to resort to fine-tipped surgical instruments (a pair of forceps and a hemostat) to grasp and lift the leading edge sufficiently to be able to separate and peel away manually. Instructions on the packaging might help.
