The pen did not let me down, I let down the pen

Great pen! Highly recommended for what it is, and I messed up trying to put a G2 cartridge in there (got the cap they have at the end got stuck really deep into the pen). Had to completely disassemble it, cut a hole on the side of the plastic barrel, and use a q-tip to push the plastic cap out the way it came. Check the screw threads inside the body that the cap screws into, and you'll see they're plastic. That's because the metal body hides an inner plastic cylinder the click mechanism is housed in. Also guess what? After cutting some holes inside the tube and permanently roughing up the action a little bit, we see the click mechanism is all plastic too(except the button itself). Overall this pen is awesome. It's afordable, strong, has an ok smooth action (mine doesn't anymore hahaha), and it's able to accept a few other cartridges that aren't Zebra brand MAKING THIS PEN AN ABSOLUTE WINNER! Plus i was able to repair mine from my own stupidity...100% plastic click mechanism and 100% plastic internal sleeve on this 100% all metal pen? Well you know the ink isn't made out of metal so right from the start you should have known better good buddy = )

My go to was always Zebra's 0.7mm black retractable. Wasn't sure about the 0.8 but i like the 701 so I used it anyway. Now it's definitely my favorite pen. Wish I would quit losing them.

This is my every day pen. It writes smoothly and has just enough heft so you don't feel like you have to press the pen to whatever surface you are writing on. Plus, it is a very stylish pen without being ""fancy"".

I'm clearly the odd one out here, but DO NOT GO TO GEL!!! at least not exclusively. The issue I am running into is that the pen is sold with a .8mm cartridge, but the refills only offer 1.0 or .7mm, no .8mm...???I don't know what is going on there, but I really liked the .8mm. not fine point, not medium point, just a good middle ground. I hope the refills in different sizes fit.

I received this as a gift when I turned 18 in back in 2010, and I have loved it ever since. Lately, my refills seem too dry compared to what they used to be. I use this at work to fill in deposits, accounts receivable, etc. because it's 'sharp' and precise. I've noticed it becoming patchy and hard to maintain a solid strong stroke, which is disappointing. Hope we get gel refills or smoother ink. That would make it a 10/10 in my book! Love this pen, and I've even purchased several more as gifts for friends! Also, I've noticed that when I first click it open and put it to paper the tip kind of clicks and retracts a little (as if it's settling into the open position if that makes sense), so I always click the tip out and tap on another piece of paper before I begin writing so it doesn't mess up a deposit log, etc. All in all, it's a nice pen, but there are some small refinements I would love.

Absolutely love this pen BUT it needs a gel refill. It is the only thing keeping it from total dominance of its market space. Bring us GEL refills...in blue.
