Positives: the lid overlaps the rest of the box so very resistant to water from overhead if this is a consideration for you. The dark color is very attractive. Negatives: the type of plastic used in fabrication is prone to cracking/fracture. I dropped a full one of these from a height of less than two feet onto a concrete floor and the entire corner shattered. It is more rigid plastic than it appears.

The containers are worth the price. They do secure tightly. That was my biggest concern as some will be used for long time storage. Interlocking when stacked is also useful. I will buy more of these in the future.

When I opened the box an approximately 2" piece of black plastic fell out. Upon inspection I discovered that the piece had broken off one of the corners. None of the corners of the shipping box were damaged in any way so it would appear the broken storage box was put in broken. I have purchased Iris products before and have been very happy with the quality thus purchasing these boxes. I need to get a replacement.
