After Hurricane Sandy my family had more than 30+ photo albums water damaged dating back as early as the 1940s. Most of the older photos from the 1950s and 1970s began to flake and crack. The brittle texture made it too late to save but at least become preserved with these laminating sheets. Transporting these photos too a scanner was too difficult due to the dissintegration but the laminating sheets were easy to slide under and seal. I suggest you run fragile photos at you slowest setting to prevent any bubbling or streaking. I can't say how it will be long term chemically reacting with the photo ink and paper but so far so good.
